The Vision

The vision of the Penny Gospel was to share the story of Jesus with thousands of people across Scotland.

The Opportunity

The 2014 Commonwealth Games presented a unique opportunity for Scotlands churches to do something simple but significant in their community.

The Penny Gospel

The Penny Gospel was a special edition of Lukes Gospel featuring inspiring stories of sporting men and women who believe their faith is worth More Than Gold. Priced at only a penny, its worth so much more to those who read it.

The Penny Gospel was designed to be a tool to help Christians share their faith, and pass on the Word of God to others.

The Penny Gospel was published by the Scottish Bible Society and Biblica

During July and August 2014, 16 members of St. Serf’s Church delivered  a total of 4,000 copies of the Penny Gospel to homes in Tullibody, Glenochil and Cambus. The church gladly sent to the Bible Society a contribution towards this outreach.

Donations from the Way Ahead Youth Group and the Prayer Group made this possible. After the delivery it was noted that only one person had declined a copy.
