Today we recognise the vital, and the very important part that our Sunday School children have played in the church over the past year.

The theme, using some badges and mottos from former regiments, is “Soldiers of the Kingdom.”

The book from which the idea comes is referring to the United Kingdom;- However, we take some liberty to stress to the children that all of us in the church are soldiers of a vastly more important Kingdom, i.e. that of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The hymns today are all looking at the life of Jesus and our daily walk with Him.

The first motto from a badge reminds us that we are called to serve Jesus…” EVERYWHERE” not just in church on Sunday.

The next one, Venture and Adventure, is a challenge not to be afraid of trying new mission ventures for the Lord, and at same time being aware of the adventure that comes from being a Christian.

We finish on the theme, “Let us not forget,” when we will recall some of the highlights of the Master’s life;- namely the Crucifixion and Resurrection.
